MIURA ONE DAY

The Miura Peninsula in Kanagawa Prefecture overlooks the Boso Peninsula across Tokyo Bay to the east, the Pacific Ocean to the south, and Sagami Bay and the Izu Peninsula to the west. Despite being located just 90 minutes from Tokyo, it is an area where you can enjoy an ocean lifestyle that combines lush greenery and the sea.

Among these, the deep coves and rich forests dotted along the west coast of the Miura Peninsula, Moroiso, and Koajiro areas boast some of the clearest water, while the east coast from Jogashima to Miura Beach features wild terrain.

By using sea kayaks, a tool filled with ancient human wisdom, you can enjoy the charm of this land from the coastline.

The main area, Koajiro Bay, is protected from the open ocean by a deep inlet, making it an ideal area for beginners to start their diving experience.

To ensure safety, the tours are private and small.

WINTER

(December to April)

During this time of year, the air and sea temperatures become lower. In December, the sea temperature is around 18°C, but the wind is cold and body heat is robbed from wet clothing, making you feel cold. From January to March, the water temperature is around 10°C, and if you get wet, you are more likely to suffer from hypothermia. Take proper measures to protect yourself from the cold, and we recommend a dry suit or a wetsuit of 5mm or more. If you can minimize the risk of capsizing, we recommend semi-dry bibs or pants with socks. For your feet, you can also wear wet boots or tight neoprene boots.

SUMMER

(May to November)

The air temperature rises sharply in May and June, but the seawater temperature remains low at around 20°C. You will feel cold if you get wet, but you will feel warm if you have sunlight. We recommend wearing welting that can respond flexibly to temperature, wind, and sunlight. It can be chilly from July to September, depending on whether there is sunlight or not. Also, wearing a long-sleeved shirt in midsummer can reduce fatigue caused by sunlight. In October and November, the wind can feel cold, but the seawater temperature is around 23°C and feels warm. If you get wet and are exposed to the wind, your body temperature will drop sharply, so rainwear and other windproof clothing is essential. If your lower body gets cold, wet pants or bibs or pants with socks are convenient.
